  • We spent the weekend in Caldwell with Dave's parents.  They took us to a race and it was a lot of fun.  We had a great time.  However, when we got home, Davie's lizard was dead.  He was sick before we left and we expected it but it was still hard to see him so upset.  Things are moving forward with the new music minister.  He should be here by the end of the month.  Hopefully, that will go smooth.  Nothing much going on.  Have a great day.

  • I won't be winning the mother of the year award.  I wrote in my previous post that Davie had hurt his hand in football practice on Wednesday.  Well, Wednesday night we iced it and sent him to school.  He had one of the teacher's wrap it up for him because it hurt so bad.  When I picked him up, it was still swelled.  We decided to take him to the doctor.  It is broke in two places.  Yes, I feel like a heal but was very encouraged by his Nana in Caldwell last night when I spoke to her on the phone.  Sometimes as parents we don't always make the right decisions.  But the blessing in this is how proud I am of the boy we are raising.  First, he had the choice whether or not to go to practice.  We told him that he might not even get to play in one game and that he may just sit on the sidelines.  He wanted to go because it was a commitment he made.  He put his uniform on and headed to practice.  The coaches where impressed.  He will miss two games but they told him that he will have a spot when the cast comes off.  He even did everything in practice except tackle and be tackled.  Then he came home and told me about something else that happened at school.  He has a friend that hurt her back on Sunday.  Davie was telling me that his arm was okay through most of the day but when he carried Libby's books, it really hurt.  He said that he didn't want her to carry them because of her back.  I was truly speechless to think he would put his own pain aside to be a gentleman to this girl.  Thank you Lord for this little man.

  • I made it through the 1st day of school with just a small amount of tears.  As I walked Ash down the 3rd grade hall, my heart sank.  She is just so small compared to the rest of the kids.  But I just imagined myself placing her in God's arms which is exactly where she is at.  We then traveled to the middle school.  I was surprised, but Davie wanted me to walk him down the 5th grade hall.  I even held back the tears until I was back in the car.  After work, I picked up my niece, Hannah, and I took her and Brook to McDonald's to have a play day with our pastor's wife and her son.  As usual, my little niece cheered me up.  She analyzed that the kids have to grow up because of the bones Jesus put in them.  "And that's just how it works Aunt Toni."  The she proceeded to tell me a knock, knock joke and missed the punch line.  Yes, I laughed.  Thanks Lord for sending me that little girl.  The play date was fun but it rained so the kids couldn't go outside.  Youth was good last night.  Dave did a great job.  After, I went to get Davie from football practice and he hurt his hand.  Please pray for him.  I hate seeing him in pain.  I think he will always be that little boy to me.

  • We finally heard from the doctor.  She said that my daughter's bone age is extremely delayed.  Although this sounds scary, it is actually the best news we could have heard considering the things that they are looking at.  So now we hit the waiting game.  She will be reviewed on and off for 6 mo. to a year.  Then we go from there.  Thank you Lord.  I taught youth on Wednesday night.  It was really cool because the girl that lead worship for us played this song that went right a long with what I taught.  We hadn't even spoke to each other.  God is amazing.  Next week starts another marathon week.  We have a music minister coming in view of a call.  The kids start school on Wednesday.  Davie begins full football practices on Tuesday.  River baptisms are on Sunday.  My missionary friend from South Carolina is coming.  Crazy, Crazy!  But exciting. Thanks Lord!!!

  • Still no news from the doctor on Ash.  I am going nuts waiting but I finally got some sleep last night.  That was good and I didn't feel so anxious when I woke up this morning.  I just keep praying that I will hear something soon.  Dave is taking a bunch of boys fishing today.  I know, being a youth pastor is so difficult.  Just kidding!  Actually, one of the boys lost his dad last October and Dave is hoping that some time with just the boys will be a good thing for him.  I pray this goes well and they all have  a good time.  That is all for today.
